Basics

What is a Node.Bot?

A self-contained AI system on a Mac at your home or in your business. The Node is the device, the Bots are the assistants on it, each with its own task. You decide what they do.

Do I need Home Assistant?

No. You only need Home Assistant for the Home Assistant plugin. Without a plugin, a Node.Bot answers questions, researches, plans and helps with programming.

Why a Mac?

The language models need a lot of fast memory. Macs with Apple chips share their memory between processor and graphics, so they run large models quietly and efficiently. Today marnis.ai runs on a Mac mini with 64 GB.

What does a Node.Bot cost?

At the start we agree prices individually, to fit the tasks of your Node. If you are on the waitlist, you hear news first.

Is there a Windows app?

Not yet. The Node itself runs on the Mac. Today you can connect from the browser and from the iPhone, a Mac app is in the works, a Windows app is an idea.

Privacy and security

What data does marnis.ai get?

Without the Hub, none. With the Hub, the Hub knows your account, your Nodes and whether they are online. Conversations, mails and documents stay on your Node.

Can anyone from outside reach my Node?

Today the Node can only be reached in your own network. Access on the go comes through the Hub, with sign-in and a second factor, and only for you and the people you approve.

Are cloud models used?

Not by default. The models run on the Node. A cloud model can only be used if you explicitly allow it for a Bot.

Is the bot safe for children?

We do our best to offer children an AI that suits them: with roles, age levels and a filter for tone and content. There is no guarantee for that.

Learning

Does a Node.Bot make mistakes?

Yes, like any new colleague. Explain the mistake to it, and during the night it takes it into its rules so that it does not happen again.

Can I see what it has learned?

Yes. What it has learned is in its rules, and new skills and fixed commands only become active after your approval.

How do I onboard a Bot for my customers?

Like a new employee: hand over documents, let it build a knowledge network, have staff confirm product facts, practise, then approve. This onboarding is planned for after version 1.0.

Businesses

How many calls can a phone agent handle at the same time?

We are still measuring that. It depends on the processing power of the Node. At the start one line per Node is planned; for more lines you spread the conversations over several Nodes in a Fleet.

Can I embed a Bot on my website?

That is an idea, with no date yet. Such an advisor would always be marked as AI and would only state checked product facts.

We have several locations. Does that work?

Yes, that is what Fleets are for: Nodes per location or department under one account. Fleets with several Nodes are planned for version 1.0.

Who sets up the Node?

marnis sets up the first Nodes itself together with you. Later the setup mostly runs automatically.
